The presence of COVID-19 in the Philippines has made it difficult for locals to travel.
While containment of the virus is a top priority, being cut off from the rest of the country feels bad. Luckily for us, improvements are being made this year.
Popular domestic flight destinations have re-opened! We’re sure most of us appreciate that the tourism industry is making an effort to welcome domestic travelers back around the country. If you want to plan a trip somewhere, let us help you with the top domestic flight destinations in the Philippines this year:
Batangas Province. The province is home to heritage sites and is famous for the Taal Volcano, but also known for its beaches like Laiya. For your Batangas trip, you just need a Valid ID, and a booking confirmation at your chosen resort or hotel. However, some municipalities may need more from you. Prior to travel, double check with the LGU of your destination.
Bohol Island. Famous for natural attractions and located in Central Visayas, this island is where the Chocolate Hills reside. For this trip, you need the following:
- Negative RT-PCR Swab Test/Saliva RT-PCR test results (taken 3 days prior to travel)
- Valid ID
- A travel coordination permit from s-pass.ph
- Booking at DOT-accredited Bohol resorts or hotels
Boracay Island. Boracay is known as one of the best beaches in the country. As a popular tourist spot, local and international visitors usually crowd it. But since international visitors have been cut off apart from those that fall under the Balikbayan category, it’s not a bad idea to visit this year.
Cebu Province. This island province presents visitors with new adventures with unique experiences. The natural beauty that Cebu offers comes from both the city and its beaches. Just be wary because regions of Cebu require different requirements for leisure travelers.
Coron, Palawan Island. While it’s cut off from mainland Palawan, Coron offers a lot. It is home to freshwater lakes, diving spots, beautiful beaches, islands, and limestone cliffs. The only catch is that Coron only accepts fully vaccinated travelers.
El Nido, Palawan Island. This area of Palawan is recognized as one of the best island destinations in the world. Their reputation was earned through flawless beaches, fun island tours, and limestone cliffs.
Metro Manila. The area is recognized as the National Capital Region, and is under less restrictions because of Alert Level 3. Apart from everything the city has to offer, cinemas are finally opening as Manila welcomes back residents and outsiders to theaters.
Speaking of restrictions, here’s a friendly reminder—there are possibilities wherein health protocols per region can change after a given time. Flights will be cancelled and you need some security with how much you’ll spend. With a comprehensive travel insurance policy, you lose nothing from non-refundable flights through reimbursement.
Either way, you’re sure to find somewhere that fits your desired travel activities with these destinations. Just make sure you’re updated on travel requirements per destination. For safer measures prior to securing your flight, it’s always nice to be backed up by an established non-life insurance company in the Philippines.
