Signs Your Car Needs Immediate Service

Can you imagine how much cars have changed and evolved? Its improvement is impeccable. With the technology cars have today, it has become much easier to determine when there’s something wrong. Unlike in the past, you’ll know something’s wrong when it has stopped in the middle of the road.

However, besides having the best car insurance in the Philippines and following your car’s maintenance schedule, you must also be sensitive to how it is doing. There are many telltale signs that indicate a car’s need to be serviced. Here are some warning signs you should know:

Check Engine Light

If it is flashing then do not ignore this sign. This light indicates that there is something wrong with your car’s computer box. As soon as you see your check engine light blinking, make sure to bring your ride to your trusted mechanic. ASAP!

Smoke (From Under The Hood)

You might have already seen this from various movies. When either your temperature gauge has reached the highest temperature range or there’s smoke coming from under a car’s hood, it is an overheating problem.

If this happens while you’re driving, immediately turn off your air conditioning, pull your car over to the side of the road, and call for assistance. While waiting, let the engine and radiator cool off. Do not attempt to take off the radiator cap as this may end up scalding you.

Excessive Smoke (From The Exhaust)

The darker the smoke, the more it’s a cause for concern. Excessive smoke from the tailpipe happens for various reasons. This may indicate an oil leak on a car, a blown gasket, and many more. Once you see this sign, do not delay any further and have it fixed.

Transmission Issues

When you drive your car often, you start to notice things you haven’t before. So when you notice a sudden jolt or difficulty to accelerate, then don’t doubt yourself. Bring it in for checking.

Leaks

Any kind of leak must be taken seriously. As the engine runs on oil, gas, and other fluids, it’s important to have it repaired as soon as possible. You risk the leak to get worse when you just leave it be.

Noise

Noises on the car (that do not come from your radio) may mean various things. This can be a result of worn brakes, among other things. When you take it to your trusted mechanic, it would be great to share your observations on where it is coming from. Your mechanic can then work from there.

Odd Smells

When you smell something odd in your car, don’t just brush it off. Instead, check your car parts to be sure. For instance, it is said that a car coolant may smell like maple syrup and a burning paper smell may mean it’s time for a clutch repair.

Taking care of a car is expensive. And like any other investments, it also requires patience and attention. For this reason, it is advisable to always be wary of your car’s state. Being able to address issues early may help save on cost, especially when you have a car insurance in the Philippines.
