With the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) officially announcing the coming of the rainy season, Malayan Insurance reminds the public to secure protection against threats posed by strong typhoons and flash floods.
According to reports, the Philippines is among the world’s most disaster-prone countries, having survived over 200 natural calamities in the last 20 years. The devastating effects of these catastrophes may then put Filipino families and their properties at risk, especially if necessary preparations are not observed.
Malayan Insurance’s Vice President Martin D. Yuchioco, said that since these disasters often occur in the country, being in a state of readiness may largely help ease their impacts.
“Many homeowners and renters can rely on insurance altogether in case of property damage as a result of fire and earthquake, but not when intense typhoons strike. We address this concern with an insurance package that now includes full coverage on typhoon and flood,” he noted.
Malayan Insurance’s Home Protect Plus provides an overall protection against damages to both the house’s structure and the contents, making it easier for policyholders to recover from typhoon-related losses.
Features of said home insurance package include cash benefit for alternative accommodation, too, should the policyholder be forced to temporarily relocate.
Meanwhile, Malayan Insurance also realizes the need to protect your vehicles in case of flood. Car owners may fall back to its comprehensive insurance package that provides extended coverage on damages caused by convulsions of nature/acts of nature (AON) such as typhoon, flood, and strong winds.
